Our Mission
For The Love Of Alex Inc. provides emergency funding for life-saving veterinary care of low-income families.
Echo The Cat
Echo was recently adopted from a rescue organization. Echo appeared to be a healthy 9-month-old female kitten. She had been spayed and was up to date on her vaccinations. However; recently her mom noticed Echo licking her side and found a sticky substance on Echoβs beautiful orange coat and when she cleaned the area her fur fell out. Upon further examination, Echoβs mom found a hole in Echoβs side.
Bitty The Cat
Unfortunately, not all stories have a happy ending. Little Bittyβs elderly parents contacted us last week; their 12-year-old kitty wasnβt doing well. Bitty was having trouble breathing, and she started flopping around on the floor, terrifying her parents. Due to the urgency of Bittyβs declining condition, we used funds from the Emergency Fund to get her into a Veterinary hospital ASAP!
Smokey The Cat
Smokey, an abandoned Oregon kitty, was rescued by his forever dad after being viciously attacked by a raccoon. Smokey had some open wounds that were infected and was treated by a veterinarian who also diagnosed him with an eye condition called Entropion. This condition causes his eyelids to turn inwards, irritating the cornea, and can lead to blindness if left untreated.
Gilmour The Cat
Gilmour, the handsome kitty from Oregon, is unwell. He has been experiencing runny stools, lethargy, and a lack of appetite for a few days, causing concern for his elderly parents. Despite their financial difficulties, they managed to take Gilmour to the veterinary clinic for an examination.
Socks The Cat
Socks, the beautiful Oregon kitty, is not feeling well; sheβs lethargic, and her dad recently noticed she wasnβt using the litter box as often as she should. And when Socks does urinate, it smells terrible and is brown in color.
Cosmo The Cat
WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGES! This handsome Portland, Oregon kitty escaped outside over the holiday weekend; Cosmo has a severe facial injury that has abscessed and was infected; Cosmo needed medical attention ASAP!
Maddie The Dog
Little Maddie is sick; she has been vomiting and has explosive bloody diarrhea. Maddie has been diagnosed with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis, she is anemic and severely dehydrated, and if left untreated, Maddie will die.
Luna The Dog
This big, beautiful girl is sick. Luna has lost almost 30lbs in just a few months and she started eating pea gravel. She is not eating and is very lethargic. Her veterinarian suspects she has a blockage and possible autoimmune disease.
