Rocket is the most resilient kitty we have ever helped. Rocket had snuck outside, and when he returned home, he sustained multiple injuries to his front and back legs. His injuries were so severe that euthanasia was suggested, but something in our hearts told us to give Rocket a second chance at life...

Rocket's mom contacted us last week; she was worried that one of Rocket's pins from his surgery in his back right ankle was poking through his skin!!! Rocket had been badly injured last November after escaping outside.

After two surgeries and months of rehabilitation, Rocket the Miracle Kitty from North Carolina has been given the all-clear from his surgeon to resume normal activity. π

Rocket had a post-surgery check-up on Wednesday, and the staples in his leg were removed. The incision area looked good, except one staple had loosened, and there was a small opening, so his vet used a little skin glue to close itβ¦
Rocket had his second surgery and is making remarkable progress.
Rocket had surgery on November 28 to repair damage to his right back ankle. The Arthrodesis procedure involved fusing the joint, and two pins were inserted to hold his joint and ligaments in placeβ¦

Rocket's front leg was amputated last week, and he has done remarkably well! He has a support bandage on his back leg, and his mom said he gets around just fine! However, once Rocket has surgery on his back legβ¦

Rocket developed a severe infection in his back leg; which has delayed his surgery on his dislocated front wrist. His front leg is being supported with a brace and both legs are bandaged, and he is able to stand and go to the litter box by himselfβ¦

Rocketβs veterinarian has placed a splint on his front leg to stabilize it. He also has a deep infection in his back leg and is not bearing weight on either leg. The veterinary surgeon does not recommend surgery to repair his front leg until the infection in his back leg is controlled. π
