UPDATE on Brave Rocket πŸ’™

Rocket’s veterinarian has placed a splint on his front leg to stabilize it. He also has a deep infection in his back leg and is not bearing weight on either leg. The veterinary surgeon does not recommend surgery to repair his front leg until the infection in his back leg is controlled. πŸ™

Currently, Rocket is undergoing daily wound care at the veterinary hospital. His wounds are irrigated with a sterile, balanced electrolyte solution to help decrease bacteria, flush debris from the injury, and then bandage.

Rocket's veterinarian changed his antibiotic, and was given a long-lasting pain injection. Rocket has made vast improvements in just three days! πŸ™Œ

His bloodwork has improved dramatically, and his eating and drinking well. Rocket is so loved and well cared for; his mom carries him to the litter box with recycled newspaper in it to prevent anything from sticking to his bandages, and she cleans him up afterward.

Rocket's veterinarian said he could have surgery on his front as soon as Monday if he continues to make great strides in recovery. Rocket is a fighter, πŸ₯Š and we are NOT giving up on him!

Rocket's medical care so far has cost $1,559.24, which does not include wound treatments for the next three days and surgery. His veterinarian also recommends amputating his front leg; the recovery time is much shorter, just two weeks versus 12-16 weeks if he undergoes surgery to place a plate and pins in the bone. This sweet boy has been through so much already!

Please help if you can. Even a $5 or $10 donation will help.
