Ziggy’s Story:

Ziggy, a cute little pup from upstate New York, was “zooming” around with his fur brother Ollie when he jumped off the couch and landed awkwardly. His mom heard him yelp and found Ziggy was not putting weight on his back left leg. X-rays revealed that Ziggy had a partial tear in his cranial cruciate ligament (Knee).

Ziggy’s veterinarian recommended a custom-made brace that Ziggy will wear for 6-9 months. Many pet parents choose bracing due to their dog's senior age or health condition. His veterinarian will make a cast of Ziggy’s leg, and the brace will be made to his skeletal frame. The cost for the brace, and cast-making kit, plus his veterinarian fee to make the mold and fit the brace, will cost approximately $1,200.00. Ziggy will also need follow-up appointments, X-rays, and possibly physical therapy.

Unfortunately, Ziggy’s elderly parents are battling health issues. Ziggy’s dad had a liver and kidney transplant in the last two years, and he needs surgery to correct a double abdominal hernia that stemmed from his transplant. Ziggy’s parents live on a small social security check and are unable to afford their cute little boy’s medical care.

Ziggy was rescued from a poor living situation; his crate was filthy, he’d never seen a vet, and another dog ate his food. Ziggy was lucky he found a loving family and a safe home. His furever mom said, “We were looking for a buddy for our other mini poodle, Ollie. Ziggy fit right in. They are both the lights of our life. He’s such a loving, sweet boy. We love the both of them. They’re buddies to each other and part of our family.”

Please help Ziggy get to enjoy the active and playful lifestyle he’s meant to have!

Melee’s story:

Melee, a beautiful Calico kitty from Texas, has been struggling with painful bladder stones that have irritated her urinary tract, causing chronic urinary tract infections and bleeding. Melee has passed two smaller stones. However, she has four larger Calcium oxalate stones that she cannot pass and will not dissolve with a urinary diet.

Melee needs cystotomy surgery to open the bladder and remove the stones. If left untreated, the stone can block the flow of urine, leading to irreversible kidney damage and death.

Melee’s mom cannot afford her life-saving surgery, which is estimated at $1,133.93 Melee’s mom is permanently disabled after suffering a debilitating injury to her back. Melee was adopted from a humane society at six weeks old; Melee and her mom share a very special bond and have been through some tough times together. Melee’s mom could not bear to lose her baby girl.

Melee is ten years old; she became a fur mom figure to her younger fur sister, Marki, and the two are inseparable. This surgery will relieve Melee from painful urination and improve her quality of life immediately!

Please help this beautiful girl get back to a happy kitty-cat life with Mom and Marki.
