Story

Tiger, a beautiful orange girl from Colorado, was badly injured after escaping outside. Her mom found her hiding under a bush. She was filthy and dragging her back leg. Her mom immediately took her to a 24-hour Emergency Clinic, and X-rays revealed that Tiger had hyperextended her metatarsals and tarsals (ankle joint), possibly caused by a fall.

This type of injury is very painful and will not heal without medical intervention. Tiger’s leg was splinted, and she was sent home with pain medication and antibiotics. Tiger’s mom was able to cover Tiger’s emergency visit through scratch pay, borrowing $649.29; however, Tiger will need extensive treatment for at least 8 weeks.

Tiger’s splint will need to be reset every 5 days so her veterinarian can monitor her progress and ensure the splint is not irritating the skin. She will need to be sedated, and each visit will cost $271.89, not including additional pain medication if needed, and the X-rays repeated every 4 weeks. The cost for Tiger’s treatment plan has been estimated between $2,551.02 and $3,188.78.

Tiger is 9 years old; her mom found her as a kitten. She said, β€œShe was walking down the street, and she climbed up my pants. Of course, I kept her, and she has been my best friend ever since. She loves to be held; she always has her paws on my chest with her head underneath my chin. She wants cuddles almost every 15 minutes (even with her cast). She needs me just as much as I need her. I am disabled, and she is my emotional support pet; I have a letter from my therapist. I love her so much, but I cannot afford this.”

Can you please help this beautiful girl regain her mobility again?

Tiger Has A Tiger Bandage!

Tiger had her cast changed and re-bandaged today. Tiger was sedated as it was uncomfortable when her veterinarian manipulated the ankle joint. Tiger was still experiencing some pain and was given a stronger pain medication that is also a slight sedative.

Tiger's veterinarian is pleased with her progress and has prolonged Tiger's next appointment to 7 days instead of 5 unless her splint or bandage slips down or is soiled. Tiger still has a long recovery period ahead - at least another 7 weeks.

Each visit costs $271.89, which includes sedation, and the X-rays will be repeated in 4 & 8 weeks. The cost for Tiger’s treatment plan has been estimated between $2,551.02 and $3,188.78. We have raised 90% so far. If you can spare a few dollars, we would truly appreciate your help.

We will have more updates on this sweet orange girl soon!

Tiger’s Recovery Is Going Well!

She had her 3rd check-up and bandage change on Friday, and her veterinarian is happy with her progress.

Tiger still has a long way to go, her leg will be splinted for at least 8 weeks, but her mom said, "She's doing really good though, she's always so positive, even when it's completely understandable not to be, she's still very snuggly."

Tiger will have a check-up, bandage change, and X-rays will be repeated in 1 week. Tiger is receiving the veterinary care she needs because of our generous and compassionate donors who gave so graciously.

We will have more updates on Tiger soon!
