Khaleesi’s Story

Something is very wrong with Khaleesi, she has lost a lot of weight over the last 7 months. At first mom thought it was because she had switched her cat food. However, it is now apparent that she is having some kind of medical issue. 

Mom is disabled and on Social Security income and she can barely make ends meet each month. She said, β€œI have never had to ask for help like this before, but I feel she may be in real trouble. I hope you will be able to help my precious baby.” 

Khaleesi needs to get to a veterinary clinic ASAP! Khaleesi is probably going to need blood work, urinalysis and possibly x-rays to determine why she has lost so much weight. 

Can you help find out what is wrong with Khaleesi and get her the medical treatment she desperately needs?

Khaleesi had lost a lot of weight, diagnostic testing confirmed she is diabetic. Khaleesi is still struggling to get her glucose levels under control after 3 months! She has blood glucose checks at the veterinary clinic every two weeks, she has insulin twice a day, and is on a special diabetic diet. The vet shaved an area on Khaleesi's back to make it easier for her mom to give her the insulin injections. Khaleesi's cost for insulin and food is approximately $150 a month. Khaleesi's mom is disabled and on social security, she called us frantically last week because she is afraid for Khaleesi's future.😿

Khaleesi is still struggling with her diabetes. She is on a prescription diet and insulin to manage her glucose levels, however her levels have not stabilized. Khaleesi is being monitored by her vet on a weekly basis and she may have to switch over to a longer lasting insulin. Her mom said, "I could never have afforded all of these vet visits, I truly do not know what we would have done without you guys!" Khaleesi has been on a strict prescription diet and insulin injections twice a day for over a month now, however Khaleesi was having trouble with her glucose levels due to a UTI. She was treated with antibiotics and she had her first check up with her veterinarian since her antibiotic treatment.

Khaleesi's blood glucose levels have improved, her veterinarian will continue to monitor her for the next few weeks and hopefully her levels will stabilize enough to where her mom will be able to start testing her at home.

Khaleesi has been a true warrior princess throughout this process. Her mom said, "I don't know what we would have done without For The Love Of Alex, I really don't!"
