Story
Garfield, the Kentucky kitty, needs surgery to remove a tumor from his Parathyroid gland that is causing early onset kidney disease, lack of appetite, lethargy, and vomiting. Without surgery, Garfield will succumb to kidney disease.
The Parathyroid gland controls the levels of calcium absorbed in the bloodstream. An overactive Parathyroid gland causes the calcium levels to rise, affecting the gastrointestinal system, the kidneys, and the nervous system. Garfield can live a long, happy life once the tumor and Parathyroid gland are surgically removed.
Garfield was recently hospitalized for 2 days due to his medical condition. His mom spent every last penny she had on the vet bill. Garfieldβs mom is low-income, she did not qualify for assistance due to lack of credit and cannot afford his surgery. She has had Garfield since he was a kitten, she found him on a pile of rubble of a home that had been burnt down. Garfield was a lucky kitty, his forever mom took him in, and they have been together for 9 years.
Garfieldβs mom could not imagine having to say goodbye to her big, handsome, orange furball because she doesn't have the money for his life-saving surgery, but she has no other options, unless we help!
