Story

Bitty Girl, a beautiful furbaby from Michigan, life almost ended before it began. As tiny four-week-old kittens, Bitty Girl and her siblings were tossed from a car like trash; tragically, Bitty and one sibling were the only survivors. Luckily, a kind animal lover saw what happened and rescued Bitty and her sibling and took them to a shelter.

Bitty Girl sustained an injury to her front right paw. She recovered from her wounds, and Bitty and her brother found a loving and safe furever home. Bitty Girl never regained all the feeling in her leg, but she was able to walk some on her ankle and it did not seem to bother her. Bitty and her brother, now 11 years old have been healthy until recently.

A few months ago, Bitty’s dad noticed that her paw looked swollen. Her dad took her to the veterinary clinic and she was treated with antibiotics for an infection, however, Bitty’s paw continued to grow. Concerned her dad returned to the veterinary clinic; they took x-rays and took a sample of the fluid in her paw. The cytology revealed cancer cells and her veterinarian recommended amputating her leg ASAP!

Sadly, Bitty’s dad could not afford the surgery. He started a GoFundMe account to raise funds for his sweet girl’s surgery. But fell short of the total by $500.00. Time was of the essence, as Bitty’s veterinarian was concerned that the tumor could rupture!

Desperately, he reached out to us for help. Her dad said, “She is a sweetheart. Always by me when I'm down. She's the best. Thank you for whatever help you can give her.” As soon as we saw the photos of Bitty’s paw we had to help this precious girl and her dad.

We used funds from the Emergency Fund and Bitty had surgery on Thursday; there was some bleeding from the incision site and she was having a hard time getting her bearings so her veterinarian kept her overnight for observation.

Bitty went home to her dad and brother on Friday. Bitty is doing well and she’s learning to walk on three legs. We will have more updates on Bitty soon!
