Story

Last night, we received an application from an elderly lady in Iowa whose orange furbaby, Bud snuck outside and was viciously attacked. His furever mom was able to pay for an Emergency exam, and his wounds were cleaned and bandaged. Bud was sent home with pain and oral antibiotics.

However, Bud’s wounds are severe and will not heal on their own. The treating veterinarian said Bud needs surgery ASAP! However, his mom had exhausted her funds. It has been 3 days since Bud was injured. Due to the urgency, we are using funds from the Emergency Fund to pay for Bud’s critical medical care, and Bud is having surgery today!

The Emergency Fund is crucial to our mission; fundraising takes time, and in cases like Bud’s, there’s no time to wait!

Can you help us reach our End-Of-Year Fundraising Goal to help SAVE more precious lives like Bud’s?

BUD UPDATE! 😻

Bud had surgery on Tuesday; his wounds were debrided, and his leg was bandaged. He is doing well post-op. Bud was discharged yesterday and will have a check-up and bandage change on Saturday. Bud stole the hearts πŸ’— of the staff at the veterinary hospital and was given extra special attention. They said he was the β€œpurrfect patient.” Bud will need continued care for several weeks until his wounds have healed.

PLEASE HELP BELOVED PETS LIKE BUD IN CRISIS TODAY! πŸ†˜ Even a $5 or $10 donation will help support our mission and save more precious lives IN 2025!

HEALING PRAYERS NEEDED FOR BUD! πŸ™

Bud's medical care is ongoing. His bandages are changed every 3-5 days. At Bud's last check-up, his veterinarian was concerned about one area on his leg that had not healed as it should have and changed his antibiotic to a stronger one. We pray that the change in medication helps Bud heal quickly.

This handsome boy has been through a lot in the last few weeks and has been such a good patient. The veterinary staff have been incredible, giving Bud extra love and attention and doing everything they can to save Bud's leg! 😽

So far, Bud's medical care has cost $2,217.31 and was only made possible because of donations we received to our Emergency Fund. We will have more updates on Bud soon! If you would like to help with Bud's ongoing medical care, please donate today!

WONDERFUL UPDATE ON BUD! 🐈

Bud's wounds were deep, and for the first few weeks, the wounds were debrided to remove dead tissue to encourage healthy tissue to grow. Unfortunately, Bud's leg wasn't healing as expected despite great efforts. However, with the amazing medical care Bud has been receiving every week, Bud's leg is on the mend! πŸ™Œ

Despite Bud going through many uncomfortable procedures; he has been a complete sweetheart and has quickly won the veterinary staff's hearts! The Practice Manager has been keeping in touch with us after his weekly appointments, sending photos of Bud's progress, as his elderly mom doesn't have a cell phone to take photos.

Bud's veterinarian said, "It looks like the one part of his skin that was staying flappy finally connected at some point. Great scar tissue forming around the edges. Still a gap in the groin but I also felt that it was looking a lot better. The toes are also no longer swollen." Bud still has a long recovery journey ahead, but this is such wonderful news!

The Emergency Fund πŸš‘ paid for Bud’s critical medical care. If you would like to help more pets like Bud, join other animal lovers, whom we refer to as our Sustaining Angels. πŸ˜‡ They donate a small amount every month. Even $5.00 a month makes a difference!
