Story
Sis, the Ohio kitten, was born with three legs and an abdominal hernia. The hernia is getting bigger, and she needs surgery to repair it. Usually, cat hernias aren’t serious; however, left untreated, they could become fatal!
Hernia surgery consists of pushing the abdominal contents back into the abdominal cavity and sewing the hole in the abdominal or diaphragmatic muscles. Sis is only nine months old and has yet to be spayed. Sis’ veterinarian recommends doing both surgeries simultaneously so that she is not put under anesthesia twice.
Sis' veterinarian recommends x-rays before surgery to better understand the severity of the hernia. Depending on any complicating factors and the hernia's location, Sis' veterinarian will determine if she needs to be referred to a specialist. X-rays are scheduled for this Friday.
Surgery Sis’ dad is low-income; he can not afford Sis’ surgery right now, but Sis can’t wait! Sis’ dad is an hourly worker; he has lost time at work recently because he is caring for his elderly father, who is courageously battling throat cancer and needs help getting to and from his treatment appointments, which has been a tremendous financial burden for the family.
Please help this beautiful little kitten live a long, happy cat life.
