PRAYERS AND DONATIONS ARE NEEDED!πŸ’—

Kitten from Ohio is approximately ten weeks old; her mom contacted us this week, desperately seeking help. Kitten was recently spayed at a low-cost spay and neuter clinic. However, 3 days later, her rear end was swollen; she was crying out in pain when trying to use the litter box and had explosive diarrhea.

Her mom reached out to us for help. She said, "I have $20 to my name until her next payday. I applied for care credit and was not approved. No vets will see her without payment. I’m distraught over this and afraid of losing her. She was fine yesterday.”

We helped with an Emergency Veterinary exam, and Kitten’s stool and bloodwork were tested. She was given a pain injection and treated for fleas and intestinal parasites. However, the next day, Kitten’s condition deteriorated rapidly; she was barely moving and had not eaten or drunk anything in 48 hours.

Kitten was rushed back to the ER veterinary hospital and was immediately triaged with an IV catheter, fluids, pain, and antibiotic medications. A Nasogastric (NP) tube was placed to help give Kitten the vital nourishment she needed, and more in-depth diagnostics were run. Overnight, Kitten started to improve; the next day, the NP tube was removed, and kitten started eating small amounts of soft food.

Kitten was discharged yesterday; her mom said, β€œShe is being such a little trooper with taking all of her meds throughout the day. She is eating both dry and wet food and drinking plenty of water. She still has diarrhea, but it does show improvement.” We will have more updates on Kitten soon!

The Emergency Fund covered the entire cost of $2,855.46. However, we need help refilling the fund so we can continue to help more pets like Kitten, who, without immediate medical attention, would perish. If you have $5 or $10 to spare, please donate below:
