Mariam, a beautiful 10-year-old kitty from northern California, was diagnosed with Stomatitis. Stomatitis causes severe inflammation in the mouth and affects the gums, lips, tongue, as well as the roof and floor of a cat’s mouth. Stomatitis is painful and debilitating.
Mariam has been treated for three months with steroids to ease her pain and antibiotics to combat her persistent oral infections. Due to the severity of Mariam’s condition, her veterinarian recommends full-mouth tooth extraction surgery. The surgery is estimated to cost between $1,289.99 and $1,482.99; however, Mariam’s 74-year-old mom is retired, and her only source of income is a modest monthly social security benefit.
Mariam is pulling out her beautiful fur due to over-grooming, a sign of stress or pain compounded by a lack of nutrition; she has lost four pounds in just a few months! Mariam’s mom adopted her when she was two months old and is devastated watching Mariam suffer like this.
Please help relieve Mariam from the pain of this horrible condition. Mariam has been suffering for far too long, and it has taken a toll on her physical and emotional well-being. Together, we can make a difference in Mariam's life!
Mariam had dental surgery! 🦷
Mariam had dental surgery. All her teeth were extracted, and she is home recovering well. Mariam was prescribed pain medication and was given an antibiotic injection.
Mariam's mom said, "She slept well all night, slept in, basically LOL. She's had a couple of the Delectables Bisque that she loves, even some canned food. She's kind of just been walking around for a while now. I think she already feels a lot better!"

Mariam has fully recovered from dental surgery! 🙌 Mariam's mom signed up as a monthly donor to For The Love Of Alex to help pay it forward to help other pet owners with the cost of their beloved pet's urgent veterinary care.
Mariam's mom said, "Mariam is back to cleaning herself! I haven't seen that for a while, her fur is really nice and soft, it's thin right now but it's looking good! She's really coming around and once again I have to say thank you so so so much I'm glad I still have my girl because of you! I couldn't be more grateful.”
