Story
Little Guy, the Florida kitty, needs some BIG help! Little guy has an aggressive tumor on his spine; the CT scan showed that the growth has not spread to any major organs. Little guy is only four years old; he can live a long and happy life once the tumor is removed.
Little Guyβs mom is low-income; she was able to borrow funds from family and friends to pay for his CT scan; however, due to the intricate location and size of the tumor, he has been referred to a Veterinary Specialist Surgeon. Surgery is estimated to be over $3,000.00, and his mom cannot afford Little Guy's surgery.
Little Guy is a survivor; two years ago, he had a urinary blockage and relapsed a few days later. Little Guy pulled through and has been a healthy kitty since. Recently while petting Little Guy, his mom found a small bump on his back; she said it appeared out of nowhere and has grown rapidly.
Little Guy has been diagnosed with Feline injection-site sarcoma (FISS). The incidence of sarcomas is scarce in relation to the number of cats vaccinated. While the exact incidence is unknown, it has been reported to be 1/10,000 of vaccines injected. Little Guyβs surgeon is confident that he can remove all of the tumors with a clean margin, and that he will not need chemotherapy or radiation.
