Kane, the North Carolina pup, has a painful tumor on his paw that splits open and bleeds, his ears are infected, and he needs a dental cleaning. His family cannot afford his surgery as they are extremely low-income and face many other daily challenges.
Kane is Tylerโs best friend and companion pet. Tyler is a young man who has developmental and intellectual disabilities. Tyler is housebound; he lives with his father, who is his 24/7 caregiver. Kane is critical to Tylerโs well-being; he is always by Tylerโs side, protecting him and offering him comfort and companionship.
We were contacted by a nonprofit home caregiver to see if we could help with Kaneโs veterinary costs. This kindhearted woman has been assisting Tylerโs dad with Tylerโs daily care for quite some time, and she has got to know the family very well. She saw that Kane needed some TLC but knew the family had no money to spare. They live on a measly $1,485.22 a month! Tylerโs home caregiver contacted other charities to see if they could help, but no one was able to help them.
This amazing pup means everything to this family; Tyler will not go to sleep without Kane by his side. When the caregiver told Tylerโs dad we wanted to help them, he cried joyfully.
