Story
Princess, a beautiful kitty from Michigan has been diagnosed with Ceruminous Cystomatosis; a non-cancerous skin disease that affects the ears of cats, causing blue-gray or purple lesions to appear. The lesions in both ears have become so large that they obstruct Princessโs ear canal, which disrupts her normal self-cleaning routine resulting in chronic ear infections.
Princess was given to her furever mom after a neighbor was moving and could no longer take care of her. At that time Princess was covered in fleas, her beautiful fur was unkept, she had chin acne and was aggressively scratching at her ears, and had ulcerated regions of skin on her belly from excessive licking.
Princessโs mom immediately took her for a veterinary exam. An ear cytology revealed that the lesions in her ear were Ceruminous cysts. Princess was treated for fleas; she was prescribed antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, and an anti-fungal ear solution. The only course of treatment for this condition requires Carbon dioxide laser ablation therapy. The cost has been estimated between $1,800.00 - 2,000.00.
Princessโs mom can not afford the surgery; she barely makes enough to stay afloat while supporting two minor children. Princessโs mom said, โShe brings so much comfort and joy, her playful and loving nature has helped us through many tough times. Unfortunately, her current medical condition is causing her a lot of pain, and it's heartbreaking to see her like this.โ
