UPDATE ON Sabiya, the Colorado kitty who is battling painful Pancreatitis.
Sabiya needed to be re-hospitalized for treatment for Pancreatitis after being discharged far too early from the veterinary hospital due to her mom not having enough money to continue her medical care. Luckily, Sabiya's mom contacted us, and we were able to help pay for hospitalization, x-rays, and an ultrasound to ensure she didn't have any other underlying medical problems, such as a tumor or cancer. Thankfully, they came back clear!
Sabiya was treated with IV fluids and pain medications, and her blood glucose levels were stable enough that she went home Friday. Sabiya's mom said she did well over the weekend; she is eating and seems comfortable. Sabiya lost a lot of weight and has a long road to recovery, but her 18-year-old fur brother, Kefira, is keeping a close watch, and he is happy she is home. π
Sabiya's mom had a special message for our donors who helped with Sabiya's medical care, "For the past two weeks, I have experience miracles and the wealth of human kindness that still exists in this stricken world, all because YOU love animals and take the time to care. I will be eternally grateful, forever."
Thank you to everyone who helped Sabiya and her mom; this sweet little kitty would not have survived without you! We will have more updates soon.
