Every day, responsible pet owners living paycheck-to-paycheck have to make a terrible decision. If their beloved pet gets sick or injured and they can't afford hundreds or thousands of dollars for veterinary care, they have to either surrender their pet or opt to euthanize them. These are situations in which euthanization would be unnecessary with proper treatment. These pets are being put-down for no other reason than lack of funding. If the owners do surrender them, unfortunately, overrun shelters often have to make the hard decision to euthanize as well. If the animal does find a new home, they are in the heartbreaking situation of getting to know new surroundings and new owners while they recover from a major medical emergency. It's a no-win situation.
