WE HAVE SOME VERY SAD NEWS TO SHARE. 😿

In November 2014, this sweet girl Nina was at Chicago Animal Care and Control and was looking for her furever home. Time was running out! Our founder, Elizabeth saw her plight and wanted to save this sweet furbaby before it was too late.

She posted a video about Nina’s story on For The Love Of Alex's Facebook page. Because of Elizabeth's post, Nina found a loving and safe furever home and she has been living her best kitty cat life for 10 years. Her mom has stayed in contact with us with updates and photos of Nina. Sadly, Nina passed over the rainbow bridge on Sunday.

Her mom said, "we had to say goodbye to our Nina on Sunday night. It seemingly came out of nowhere, as she was completely normal until Saturday morning when she threw up her food. Nina deteriorated quickly. It turned out she had an abdominal mass that we didn't know about which had ruptured. I am heartbroken. πŸ˜₯

I don't understand how she could go from normal to gone in such a short amount of time. Nina was so loved and gave so much love right back. We were so blessed to have had Nina in our lives, but that makes her loss so much harder to bare." πŸ’”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nina's family during this sad and difficult time.

RIP sweet Nina you will be forever in our hearts. 🌈
