We are extremely saddened to tell you that our beloved Alex crossed over the rainbow bridge on Monday, May 9, 2022. Our hearts are broken by his sudden passing. πŸ’”

Our precious boy Alex was rushed to the emergency veterinary clinic Monday morning. Alex started exhibiting flu-like symptoms and suddenly became very unstable on his feet. Given his advanced age of 18-years-old, the veterinarian was concerned with Alex possibly developing Pneumonia.

Alex underwent diagnostic testing, bloodwork, and x-rays. His blood work looked good for his age, and x-rays ruled out pneumonia. However, he was dehydrated and showed signs of Neurological issues. He was treated for dehydration and referred to a neurologist. Sadly, Alex took a turn for the worse and slipped away peacefully at 9 pm. His loved ones were by his side, and he will be missed deeply. ❀️

Alex touched so many lives, not just the pets he helped save and their families, but also his fans across the globe. Alex's memory will live on through For The Love Of Alex. We will continue Elizabeth's & Alex's mission to help pets in need and their families. Elizabeth started our foundation nine years ago because she had gone through a veterinary emergency experience with Alex; Alex was lucky Elizabeth had the financial means to pay for his bladder stone removal surgery, and Alex made a full recovery. Some pets aren't so fortunate; without organizations like FTLOA, pet owners who cannot afford their pet's emergency medical treatment often are faced with a horrible decision. 😿

Elizabeth believed every animal deserves a second chance at life!

Reality hits home when it's your beloved pet with a medical emergency. Sitting in your car while your pet is at an emergency hospital is one of the scariest situations a pet owner faces. Not knowing what is going on and how much it will cost? We could not have imagined not being able to give Alex every possible chance at life, and that is what other pet families go through every day.

Alex was monumental in helping us raise funds to help needy pets and their families. Alex was loved by so many people across the world. He brought awareness to our mission, and he will never be forgotten.

Alex is at peace with Elizabeth, and they are shining down upon us, watching the great work you do to help pets in need and their families.

RIP Sweet Alex. We all love you so very much. πŸ’•

To continue Elizabeth & Alex's mission of saving pets in need and helping the families that love them, we need donations. FTLOA does not receive government grants; we rely solely on donations. We cannot help another pet in need without funding.
