The COVID-19 Pandemic and Pets
While the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting everyone, it's important not to forget our cat and dog friends. These sweet souls are keeping lonely seniors, people with disabilities, and everyone else in quarantine company. At the same time, their owners are experiencing financial hardship and it may be hard to afford veterinary visits and prescriptions for their pets. Dealing with a sick pet during this pandemic is stressful and loosing a beloved pet adds more trauma to the situation. You can help.
For The Love Of Alex exists to help pets and their people throughout the USA. When an otherwise responsible pet owner faces a major veterinary emergency, it can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. If a low-income family cannot come up with the funds or be approved for credit, they are often forced to surrender or euthanize their pet. That's where donors like you come in. Your support helps to save the lives of pets from low-income situations and get them back home to their loving families. Your donations are paid directly to veterinary offices or pharmacies, and never given to individuals.
For The Love Of Alex does not have large corporate donors or government funding; we only have individual donors like you. YOU make miracles happen, one donation at a time.
We are all touched by the global COVID-19 pandemic. We are seeing a significant increase in applications, as people are facing unforeseen financial hardship. At the same time, we have a decrease in donations, because regular donors don't have the extra funds to help.
During this time of isolation, companion animals are providing crucial emotional support. It is always heartbreaking to have to turn an application down due to a lack of funding, but right now, it is even worse. YOU can help keep pets alive and get them home to recover with their loving families.
We share your belief that no animal should suffer needlessly or be the victim of euthanasia for purely economic reasons. The average cost of saving one pet life is $2,800. But don't feel overwhelmed. Our average donation has always been around $25, so it has always taken a village to fund one case.
Right now, many of our consistent $5, $10, and $25 donors are unable to give. If you are able to give, we can put every dollar we get to good use.
If you can't give, please share and invite people to this fundraiser as well as talk about our mission to family and friends. There are a lot of nonprofits out there and the more people who know about us, the more likely that we will be able to save lives for years to come. THANK YOU.
Please donate today! Without YOU, there is no For The Love Of Alex.
