Reef flourishes because YOU cared.
Reef the Florida Cat was having a string of bad-luck. Both of her owners had lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and she was suddenly in pain. Thanks to support from loving donors like you, she received the care she needed and is getting around well today.
Reef's mom left this review on GreatNonprofits:
We had already spent 900 dollars of our rent money on diagnosing our beautiful Reef, the calico cat that rescued us 2 years ago when I reached out to For the love of Alex. Reef had diabetes and muscle atrophy.
We were 6 weeks into the Covid crisis, both my husband and myself unemployed all that time, and for no one knows how long, and I really felt hopeless. None of our local resources were taking cases due to quarantine rules. When the angelic voice on the phone said she was with FTLOA I couldn't believe it! ( When I emailed them I fully expected to be turned down, simply because of the number of families in need. )They were going to help! Reef had a chance! My prayers were answered by the Angels. Alex's Angels.
Turns out after further tests that I could not have gotten otherwise, that Reef is not only diabetic but she has an old spinal cord injury that is being worsened by muscle atrophy and arthritis. Also turns out she is a senior kitty, between 8 and 12 years old.
Reef really had no chance to live out her years with us without FTLOA.
Now we are able to manage both her pain and her diabetes, and she is coming back to herself. Our queen.
There will never be words adequate to communicate our thankfulness, but we will pay it forward in thanks and testimony. Please, even if it's only 5 dollars, give to FTLOA when you can. Share their posts. They are the real deal, helping pet families in dire emergency.
Thank YOU, Alex's Angels for making this possible. For The Love Of Alex is just a way to take your donations and get them to the pets who need them. You are the life-saver.
