Howie the Cat’s Success Story.

It's always great to hear from old friends. Howie's mom popped in with this lovely message:

6 years ago this wonderful group saved our kitty Howie. He had a kidney infection that caused him to go into kidney failure. For The Love Of Alex gave him the opportunity to fight through. He is now a happy and healthy 17 year old kitty. With only a special kidney diet, he has been able to keep his kidney values in the normal range for the past 6 years. He would more than likely not be here if it wasn't for this group, and for that I could never say thank you enough ❤

Howie was a case we took in our first year. He needed 24/7 care in Oakland, MI when his kidneys were shutting down. Read a little of his history here.

Update 04/20/2020:

It is with a heavy heart that we must share the news that Howie passed away. After six and a half years of good health and a happy life, Howie faced aggressive cancer and his owners were able to selflessly put Howie's needs and quality of life above their own. Howie said good-bye on 04/19/2020 with his loving family by his side. Howie's owner said. "We wanted to let you know, you all were such a big part of his life. You gave us SO many more years than we thought we would get. Thank you for everything you do ❤" While this news is sad, please know that your donations literally bought Howie time. Over six years of precious time. And that is something to hold close to your heart. Please keep Howie and his family in your thoughts.
