10 Reasons To Donate Today!
For The Love Of Alex is a small nonprofit committed to helping pets from low-income families receive life-saving veterinary care.
What Do We Do?
Every day, responsible pet owners living paycheck to paycheck have to make a terrible decision. If their beloved pet gets sick or injured and they can't afford hundreds of thousands of dollars for veterinary care, they must either surrender their pet or opt to euthanize them. Unfortunately, if the owners surrender them, overrun shelters often euthanize them. These pets are being put down for no other reason than lack of funding.
That's where your donations come in. We can fund emergency treatment so that animals don't have to be euthanized or surrendered. Cats and dogs can get their needed care and return to loving homes.
If that's not reason enough to give, here are ten more reasons!
Ten Reasons to Donate Today:
1. Keep Pets Out Of Shelters
Helping to cover veterinary care keeps pets out of shelters and prevents economic euthanasia. We all wish we could adopt every pet in need, but that isn't realistic. We can, however, keep these pets in their loving homes by helping them financially.
2. Support Pets And Their Hoomanβs
Khaleesiβs mom said:
βThank you for helping us. I honestly don't know what I would do without your help; that is the truth. I just saw the price of the cat food. I don't know how on Earth I'm going to be able to afford this. I'm so grateful for you.β
3. Stop Financial Euthanasia
Mr. Miyagiβs mom said:
"I could not be more grateful. Thank you to For the Love of Alex for giving me the option to save my furbaby instead of putting him over the rainbow bridge.β
4. Give Families Hope
Peruβs mom said:
βA few months ago, I discovered that my cat, Peru, had cancer in her ear. The only option to save her life was to have total ear canal ablation surgery, which costs around $4000. Unable to afford the surgery, I was feeling hopeless. Without For The Love Of Alexβs help, Peru would not have been able to beat cancer.β
5. Know Where Your Donation Goes
For The Love Of Alex Inc. only pay veterinarians and pharmacies directly, so you know that your donations are not going to people with bad intentions.
6. Help Emotional Support Animals
Zeusβs mom said:
"Zeus is an emotional support animal for my son due to mental illness. Zeus is very important to us. We want to try everything possible to help him get his surgery. Zeus needs a metal plate to fix his bone. Heβs our family and we love him dearly. It breaks our heart that we canβt get his surgery done fast enough because of the vet payment.β
7. Changing Lives
Kiloβs mom said:
"On July 3rd, 2021, I had a Grand Mal Seizure; Kilo ran downstairs to get my daughter to come upstairs by running back and forth. She gave me CPR until the ambulance got here. Kilo saved my life. And For The Love Of Alex saved his.β€οΈ They helped with his meds, his special RX food, and special litter. There are no words that could even come close to how much they mean to me for helping us. Kilo is such a loving kitty, and he is loved so much; and it's nice to know there's ppl out there that are willing to help pets in need. Thank you guys so much."
8. Make Miracles Happen
Miaβs dad said:
"I was desperate at this point and was praying that by some miracle someone would offer assistance. As luck would have it, I submitted my application with pictures to For the Love of Alex and was almost immediately contacted by Carla. I was so humbled and relieved that they offered to pay entirely for Mia's surgery. They have been a Godsend to Mia!β
9. Pay It Forward
After making a generous donation, Maria M from Oklahoma said:
"Iβm just glad that I am able to help in small way. Iβm blessed that Iβm able to take care of my Frankie and CeCeβs medical needs. Sometimes I have extra and Iβm able to help someone else in need. If I were to ever win the lottery, For The Love of Alex would be on my list right after my family."
10. We Need You
For The Love Of Alex doesn't have large corporate donors or government funding. We have kind-hearted animal lovers like you who donate what they can when they can.
This is a growing need that isn't going away any time soon. We receive applications for financial support daily from otherwise responsible pet owners who don't want to say goodbye to their best friend. The last few years have been especially difficult for some people due to loss of income, sickness, and the increased cost of living.
We need your help to keep saving lives. Please donate today.
