YUBARI IS HOME!
We are thrilled that Yubari, the Pennsylvania kitty, is home and doing well. Yubari was extremely sick; he had a complete urinary blockage, urine had backed up into his kidneys, and he was declining fast. Without immediate medical care, Yubari would have died. π
We put a deposit down to admit Yubari to an Emergency Veterinary Hospital, a urinary catheter was placed, and he was administered life-saving intravenous medications. Yubari's BUN and Creatine blood levels were dangerously high, and Yubari fought hard to live. π
Yubari was hospitalized for 5 days, but he made a miraculous recovery. His blood levels returned to normal, and the catheter was removed. He was monitored to ensure he was urinating and went home to a little girl that loves him dearly. π
Yubari lost a lot of weight and will need a urinary prescription diet for the rest of his life to prevent any future blockages. Yubari's mom is monitoring his litter box habits closely and his furr-ever friend Everett Greyson is staying close by his side. π
The total for Yubari's hospitalization cost $4,763.00, but we only raised 57% of the total; we used funds from the Emergency Fund to pay off the balance so that Yubari could go home. π‘
The Emergency Fund is CRITICAL to our mission and is getting dangerously low. Please help us refill the Emergency Fund to help more pets like Yubari. π₯
