Good news on Gilmour! πŸ’™

Gilmour had a veterinary appointment last Friday, and they ran diagnostic tests. The x-rays and urinalysis came back within normal limits. His stool was checked for parasites, and Gilmour was diagnosed with Giardia.

Giardia is an intestinal parasite that can affect both animals and humans. These tiny organisms live in the small intestine and can cause serious illness in infected cats.

One of the most effective ways to treat Giardia is with Metronidazole an oral solution that is given for 5-7 days. Gilmour was also given fluids for dehydration, a Cerenia injection for nausea, and sent home with Elura oral suspension that helps with unexplained weight loss, and more Mirtazapine, an appetite stimulant.

Gilmour's elderly parents said, "he looks so much better, really skinny, but more alert and energetic and is drinking water and eating more than he has been."

Gilmour is on the road to recovery! Gilmour’s total veterinary care cost was $878.17. Thank you to everyone who helped this handsome boy get better!
