Tiny Tim’s Success Story

Can I tell you a secret?
I gave Timothy the name Tiny Tim.

His family exclusively calls him Timothy, but I immediately thought of the sickly and deserving young boy in a Christmas Carol when I saw this sweet little kitten. I couldn't stop myself. I have a soft spot for classic Christmas tales, and as we come upon another Christmas, I feel as though Timothy's success is a glimpse into the goodness of Christmas future.

Back in 2019, a little girl finally got her wish. After bargaining and budgeting with her single mother and giving up Christmas and birthday gifts, she was allowed to go to the local shelter and pick out a kitten. She immediately fell in love with the scrawny and loving Timothy. There was no tearing these two kids apart!

But their honeymoon was short-lived. Suddenly, Timothy's health declined. A birth defect caused a pocket in his urethra that was filling up with urine and causing his bowels to become impacted. The pressure caused a urethral tear and a lot of pain for poor Timothy, who could barely walk.

The little girl's mom ran up her care credit but still didn't have enough to pay for all of his care. That's where Angels like you came in. He was able to have emergency surgery and treatment, and over a year later, he is no longer tiny at all. Sweet Timothy has gained weight and had more fur come in. He's happy and healthy and well-loved.

Before Timothy, this small family didn't have a pet. Because Timothy was saved, they had a companion during this terrible year. In fact, Timothy's owner recently recovered from COVID.

Tiny Tim's miraculous journey from a sick kitten to a lively cat is exactly the Christmas story I will be thinking about around my tree this year.
