Good News for Georgie!
UPDATE: Georgie has had a setback. Please follow his Georgie's case page for details.
Georgie came to us in August 2019 with a potential cancer diagnosis. He needed testing and treatment, but the veterinarian believed Georgie had an excellent chance of beating cancer. The next hurdle for Georgie's mom was the cost of treatment. He was being transferred to a specializing oncologist, and his life-saving treatment wouldn't be cheap. Georgie's mom works part-time as a caregiver to a quadriplegic individual and is a full-time mom to her two special-needs kids. She didn't want to ask for help, but it was the only way to save her sweet Georgie.
You came through for Georgie's mom in a big way! Thank you for every generous donation. We received a positive update on Georgie yesterday:
It's amazing that he's doing so well. It's still like you wouldn't even guess he had cancer with the way he acts.
Georgie's mom also shared this bit of news:
I am overjoyed to tell you that I am now in a position where I'll be able to take over Georgie's cancer care myself. I am unbelievably grateful to FTLOA for everything you guys have done, taking on his care when he didn't have a diagnosis and then agreeing without knowing the end date... The outpouring of support from everyone as well for donating to help my baby will never be forgotten nor will I have the ability to replenish what was given, but I'm going to try as hard as I can by providing donations as much as I'm able while continuing to care for Georgie... Thank you and FTLOA for everything you've done for my furbaby, I can't thank you enough!
Thank you to everyone who helped keep Georgie alive over these past six months. You are actual life-savers.
While we are so glad to see Georgie and his mom thriving, the need to fund emergency veterinary care never ends. Please consider helping the next pet in need by making a donation today.
