Shadow The Cat Update
Shadow finally has a Diagnosis
After extensive testing he has a diagnosis. Shadow has been diagnosed with Saddle Thrombus a serious and sometimes fatal complication of heart disease in cats. A blood clot broke loose from his heart and moved to his lower abdomen causing his rear limbs to swell due to a lack of oxygen and nutrients - paralyzing his back legs.
Shadow is being treated for pain, anti-clot medications and fluid therapy. His mom said that today, Shadow stood up for a whole minute without falling over. He is making remarkable progress!
We are praying that the medication dissolves the clot and Shadow keeps improving.
Shadow The Cat Update
Shadow is not improving
We are sad to hear that the medication Shadow was given over the weekend is not working. He is still unable to stand up and walk. He has a follow up visit with his veterinarian this week for bloodwork and an evaluation. We hope this handsome boy gets better fast.
We will have more updates soon.
Ruby had surgery to repair her femur bone.
Ruby is doing great!
Ruby had surgery to repair her broken femur bone. Her activity has been restricted so that she doesn't damage her healing leg. She is still wearing the cone of shame but her mom said Ruby is doing great, the x-rays show that her bone is healing well. Ruby has a few more check-ups before the case on her leg can be removed.
We will have more updates soon.
If you would like to help more pets in need like Ruby, please donate to her fundraiser.
Dolly had surgery to repair her broken leg.
UPDATE: Good News for Dolly, were were able to put a deposit down so she could get her surgery. Dolly is doing great, she still is wearing her cone and is kenneled and leash walked so she does not get overly zealous and hurt her healing leg. She has been for 2 check-ups and x-rays to make sure she is healing properly and will continue to be monitored until the stitches and cast are removed.
We still have an outstanding vet bill to pay. If you can help us please make a donation to Dolly's fundraiser.

GOOD NEWS for Mr. Miyagi the Karate Cat. He had oral surgery, and they removed several teeth and he has been given a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications. He will also need an Enzymatic water supplement for the rest of his life to control his condition. The veterinarian recommended yearly evaluations. Mr. Miyagi is home and resting comfortably, he is eating well and feeling like a kitty again.
GG The Cat Update
GG the Cat is Back! GG had a dental surgery and has been given a clean bill of health.
GG had dental surgery to remove a few teeth to control his severe gingivitis. Everything went well and he is home and happy. The veterinarian recommends yearly check ups. His mom wanted to pass on a message to our donors, "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping GG & I, when we really needed it. I am so happy to have GG back to feeling normal again."
Ruby The Dog Update
Ruby has suffered a set back
POOR Ruby the Pup has had a set back. She went for surgery and the pre-examination revealed that she had sustained injuries to both back legs! The veterinarian opted to put a cast on the leg she is not bearing any weight on and will have to wear it for 6 weeks.
This sweet girl has a long road to recovery. We will know more when she has her check up. Initially we thought the surgery would cost $2400.00, however with her other leg injured we are going to need help raising more funds.
Andy's Progress
Andy's progress
Andy's check up went well, he has been given another course of antibiotics to clear up the infection at the base of his tail. The veterinarian needs healthy tissue in order to suture it up after he removes Andy's tail.
Andy's savior and new mom said he is eating and drinking and definitely feels more comfortable. Andy is finally starting to act like a kitten - playing with his toy mouse and ball. Andy now has a surrogate kitty mommy named Claire, who is helping take care of him.
Andy will have another check up once he has finished his second course of antibiotics and hopefully at that time his surgery will be scheduled.
