Update on Muffin💝

Muffin has been plagued with severe constipation and urinary tract infections despite being on a urinary prescription diet. Muffin's veterinarian had recommended diagnostic testing to get to the root of Muffin's medical issues. However, the cost of the bloodwork, urine culture, and ultrasound was far beyond the means of Muffin's mom, who lives on a small monthly disability check.

We helped get Muffin the diagnostic tests she needed; the good news is the ultrasound showed no bladder stones, and the bloodwork was within normal levels except for elevated white blood cells due to infection. The urine culture showed bacteria in her urine, and Clavamox was the right course of treatment.

Muffin will continue with her antibiotics, Royal Canin s/o urinary food, FortiFlora daily supplement, and Lactulose to treat her constipation as needed.

Muffin's mom and veterinarian are consulting on the next steps for Muffin's medical treatment if she has another flare-up. He suggested a water fountain, so we ordered one from Amazon for Muffin to encourage her to drink more.
