UPDATE ON HANDSOME SNOWBABY! π½
Snowbaby received Radioactive Iodine therapy to treat his Hyperthyroidism condition a few weeks ago. He was isolated for two weeks from his furry friends and his mom had limited interaction with him due to the radiation.
Snowbaby got out of kitty cat jail and was doing well; he was eating, drinking, and using the litter box. However, he developed a rash under his chin that seemed painful. We made an appointment for Snowbaby at his local veterinarian for an exam (the Specialist hospital that treated him for Hyperthyroidism was located 3 hours away in Maryland.)
The good news is that the rash was acne and can be easily treated with Chlorhexidine. His blood pressure was checked as cats with Hyperthyroidism are more susceptible to high BP. Snowbabyβs blood pressure was higher than normal and he was prescribed a daily oral medication that was compounded by a local pharmacy.
Snowbaby will have a recheck with the Specialist Veterinarian in two weeks. We will have more updates on Snowbaby soon!
