SWEET CREAM HAD HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY, BUT THERE WAS A MINOR COMPLICATION. π
Cream's right hip joint was decaying due to femoral head necrosis, a degenerative disease that robbed him of a good quality of life. Without surgery, Cream would live in pain and eventually lose mobility. πΏ
During the pre-examination X-rays, Cream's surgeon discovered that his left hip joint also showed necrosis. Cream's mom frantically called us and asked if we could cover the additional cost of doing both joints simultaneously. Of course, we said YES!
We fundraised for Cream's surgery last week but fell a little short of the total. The additional surgery cost would be another $600.00, so we had to use funds from the EMERGENCY FUND to cover the total. π₯
The good news is Cream's surgery was a complete success. He is home and doing well. He can stand and walk a little but is confined to a small area to allow his hip to heal. Cream will have a post-op check-up in a few days. We will have more updates on Sweet Cream soon. Thank you to everyone who supports our mission!
