Rest in Peace, Alex Miley; you were loved so much

We are sad to tell you that Alex Miley, the kitty with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), passed peacefully over the rainbow bridge with his mom by his side.

We met Alex Miley and his mom back in March. Alex Miley's stomach was swollen, and his stools were runny. We helped with the cost of diagnostic testing, and the bloodwork confirmed FIV. FIV is one of the most common infectious diseases in cats that attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to many other infections. It is transmitted through bite wounds from another infected cat. Alex was rescued from an uncaring situation, he found a home where he could be safe and happy.

We have been helping Alex Miley with palliative care, but his mom said, "it was time for him to take a long nap." Please keep Alex Miley's mom in your thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult and sad time.
