MS KITTY HAS A DIAGNOSIS! 🐈

Kitty was examined for her skin condition; though Kitty’s mom had treated her with over-the-counter flea treatment and did not see any fleas, Kitty was diagnosed with Flea Allergy Dermatitis.

Cats can be allergic to flea saliva, which causes the release of a histamine-like compound, resulting in a very itchy skin condition. Just one flea bite can be enough to make your cat’s skin itchy for up to 2 weeks.

Kitty was given steroid injection to help with her itchiness and inflammation, a Capstar pill to kill any live fleas immediately and sent home with 4 months of Vectra, a monthly flea preventative and Knockout area treatment for the home.

We will have more updates on Kitty soon! 😻
