Max had a Veterinary Emergency! πŸ₯

We had helped Max back in February; Max had escaped outside, and when he returned, his jaw was broken and needed surgery immediately. We helped Max, and he had surgery and fully recovered. However, we received a frantic call from Max's mom. She had noticed that Max was constantly going in and out of the litter box but was not urinating. She was worried he had a urinary blockage and did not know what to do.

We told Max's mom to take him immediately to the Emergency Clinic; the examination confirmed Max was blocked. Luckily, Max's mom was so observant, so he hadn't been blocked for long. Max was hospitalized overnight with a urinary catheter, and his bloodwork returned within normal range.

Max did so well that he went home the next day. Due to this scary event, Max will need a prescription urinary food for the rest of his life to prevent this from happening again. The food is expensive, and his mom cannot afford it, so we are helping with the cost of Max’s monthly prescription food.

Because of the urgency of Max's condition, we used funds from the Emergency Fund and the Tender Loving Care Fund to cover Max's $1,809.23 veterinary bill. Thankfully, Max is doing well, and he loves his new food. πŸ™
