LOKI IS HOME AND DOING GREAT! π½
Handsome Loki, the California kitty, is recovering from Perineal Urethrostomy surgery to widen his urethra after suffering from back-to-back life-threatening urinary blockages.
Loki is on bed rest for two weeks; no jumping, or climbing, so he does not tear the incision area or his sutures and has to wear his cone until he is completely healed.
Loki has been prescribed Hills c/d wet food diet and will continue on it for the rest of his life to prevent any crystals from developing. His mom said, "Loki is doing great, getting stronger every day and healing well. He finished his pain meds and he'll be on Orbax antimicrobial for another week. He's been urinating normally but had some diarrhea due to the antibiotics."
Loki will have a follow-up appointment with his surgeon in a few days. We will have more updates on this handsome boy soon!
