Beautiful Alvin had Surgery! π
Alvin's had surgery to remove her diseased eye that was causing immense pain. The surgery went well, and she was later discharged to recoup at home with her mom. Alvin's incision was closed with internal sutures, and she will need to wear her cone for at least 10 days or until the incision has healed completely.
Alvin's mom said, "She is eating and purring and snuggling. I think it is a big relief for her little head to not have that painful eye in there. She seems to be a very happy girl." π½ Alvin's surgery was only made possible by For The Love Of Alex's army of donor angels π who generously donated and covered the entire cost of Alvin's surgery! Without this surgery, Alvin's mom was facing euthanizing Alvin because she could not afford $1,566.51 for her surgery and could not bear to see her sweet girl continue to live in pain.
So far this year, our donors have helped 80 pets receive the urgent veterinary care they need. The demand for our assistance has increased this year due to inflation and an unstable economy, impacting low-income families the most. We want to help more families' beloved pets, but that requires funding.π Our End-of-Year fundraising goal is to raise $55,000 to save more pets like Alvin, if you would like to help, please make a life-saving gift here: https://on.ftloa.org/4eXO0IS
