Story

Shinichi the Texas kitty needed help with a urinary blockage. Shinichi's aunt contacted us and asked if we could help. Time was of the essence! Shinichi needed a urinary catheter placed and possibly P.U. surgery which his dad could not afford. The urinary catheter opened up Shinchi's urethra, and he started urinating on his own and was discharged from the hospital the next day.

Shinichi appeared to be doing better. He was given medications and a special urinary diet he will need for the rest of his life. However, a few days later, Shinichi started urinating blood. Shinichi was rushed to the emergency room, and x-rays showed that Shinichi had a urinary stone and may need surgery.

The next day Shinichi had a follow-up urinalysis, and the good news was there was grit in his urine, meaning the stone was responding to the medication and was shrinking. Hopefully, Shinichi will be able to pass the rest of the stone naturally, and not require surgery. Shinichi's veterinarian and his dad are monitoring him closely, but he is doing well so far.

Shinichi received the medical care he needed from the funds in our Emergency Fund. The Emergency Fund helps pets that need emergency veterinary care NOW; they are the pet cases that cannot wait for us to fundraise.

Please donate today to our 2022 End-of-Year Emergency Fund to help another pet in need like Shinichi.
