We helped Umusa in October with his allergic dermatitis; Umusa had scabs on his face and neck from constantly scratching due to allergies. Umusa was prescribed Apoquel, which blocks allergic itch at the source. However, after 3 months, Umusa is still itchy and he has steadily been losing weight.
Umusa's veterinarian referred him to an allergy specialist who ran an immunology blood test and found Umusa is allergic to dust mites, fleas, certain types of grass. But because Umusa has been losing weight his veterinarian wants to run additional bloodwork to check his liver & kidney function, a urine culture and check his blood pressure before changing medications for his allergies.
