Story

Zoey was abandoned on a doorstep at just 12 weeks old. Zoey and her siblings were exposed to the hot summer sun for several days before they were found. Eventually, the litter was taken to a tile flooring store for shelter and care until they could be adopted. That’s where Zoey’s mom found her and fell in love.

Unfortunately, Zoey was discovered to be struggling with a health condition called Idiopathic Megacolon. Her colon is enlarged and incompetent, leaving her in pain and struggling to defecate. This condition only worsens with age, and her Mom is doing everything she can to make her comfortable. Zoey was on medications to manage her condition, but they aren’t working so well anymore. After consulting with her veterinarian, they decided that trying a prescription diet specific to colon conditions is the best route for Zoey to take at this point. Fortunately, the food helped Zoey feel much better, but it is costly.

Zoey’s mom had a hard life. She has a permanent disability and is living on a meager fixed income. After battling ovarian cancer at age 15 and facing fertility issues, she has built a life focusing on her two cats as her children. Zoey and her other cat, Zico, are the light in their owner’s life. And, just like human kids, they are expensive. She is already funding Zico’s prescription diet after he suffered a urinary blockage last year that required expensive treatment. The added cost of Zoey’s prescription food is beyond her small monthly budget. Unfortunately, local pet food banks near her do not offer prescription food. Zoey’s much-needed food costs $66.00 a month.

Zoey’s Mom says that her sweet baby has saved her life. She doesn’t want lack of funds to be the reason she can’t help Zoey overcome her pain due to her condition.

Please donate to help Zoey feel better by covering the cost of her prescription food. Every dollar helps.
