Story

Toaster, or Toast for short, is very sick. She has been vomiting bile for two days, is very lethargic, and cannot keep food down. Her dad said he found painter's tape in her stool and was worried she had an abdominal obstruction. 

We helped with the exam fee and diagnostic x-rays, and Toast’s veterinarian confirmed that she has a foreign object in her stomach. Toast’s vet induced vomiting but was unsuccessful, she was kept overnight for observation, fluids, and medications, but it has become apparent that Toast needs surgery as soon as possible.

Toast is being transported to an Emergency Specialist Hospital today. Surgery has been estimated to be $2,200.00 - $2,640.00. Her dad recently lost his job due to small business closure. He is actively looking for work but is having a hard time.

Toast and her fur friends are essential to their dad's mental health. Toast’s dad struggles with Generalized Anxiety and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. He would be devastated if Toast succumbed to her condition because he doesn't have the money to save her. 

Toast’s dad said, “She is a cuddle bug, the smartest cat I’ve ever met. She gives high-fives with both paws and loves butt pats and two-handed pets. It has been horrible watching her go from my fluffy serotonin floofer to seeming like she doesn't have any life in her eyes is heartbreaking, and I really want to help her, but I do not have the financial means.”
