Story

The Emergency Fund recently helped a sweet New York kitty who was badly injured after escaping outside and bitten several times by another animal. Kingsley had multiple bite wounds around his face, neck, and legs, and he was limping.

Kingsley's mom cleaned his wounds; however, they became infected, and he needed immediate medical attention. Kingsley's mom lives on a Disability income of $1400.00 a month; she barely has enough to pay her monthly expenses. She tried to apply for pet care credit and was denied.

We used funds from the Emergency Fund to get Kingsley the urgent veterinary care he needed. His wounds were cleaned and a surgical drain was placed in his neck for 3 days to help clear the infection. Kingsley was treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications.

Kingsley had a check-up and his veterinarian is happy with his progress. His mom said, "He is doing so well. He's healing and the wounds are closing up nicely."

The Emergency Fund is critical to our mission; it helps pets like Kingsley that need help now. Please help refill the Emergency Fund so we can continue to help more pets in crisis. Even a $5 or $10 donation will make a difference to a beloved furry family member.
