Gerty The Cat

Gerty was a stray; for unknown circumstances, this sweetheart was on the streets fending for herself. Luckily, a kind animal lover took Gerty in, and she has flourished in her furever home. Gerty was very friendly and must have been someone's pet at one time. Recently, Gerty’s mom noticed that she was frequenting the litter box often.

Story

Gerty was a stray; for unknown circumstances, this sweetheart was on the streets fending for herself. Luckily, a kind animal lover took Gerty in and she has flourished in her furever home. Gerty was very friendly and must have been someone's pet at one time. Recently, Gerty’s mom noticed that she was frequenting the litter box often.

She suspected a urinary tract infection and took Gerty to her veterinary clinic. However, tests for a UTI were negative. Upon the exam, her veterinarian saw Gerty had some vaginal discharge and suspected Pyometra, a severe infection of the uterus that causes it to fill with bacteria and pus. Pyometra occurs in unaltered female cats.

Gerty’s mom was surprised as she assumed Gerty was spayed as she had never shown any signs of nursing or seen any kittens. Surgery has been estimated at around $1,300.00, something Gerty’s mom can not afford right now. Gerty is on antibiotics, but she needs this surgery ASAP!

Gerty has a loving and safe home; can you give her a second chance at a beautiful and healthy life with a donation today?
