Story

Crook, a handsome Minnesota kitty, has been diagnosed with a degenerative condition known as Bilateral Physeal Dysplasia with Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis. This condition causes him pain and makes it difficult for him to bear weight and walk for long periods.

In Crook's case, the head (or "ball" part) of the top of his thigh bone (femur) slips backward and downward at the growth plate in both hips. This condition is commonly found in young, neutered male cats like Crook. To prevent further slipping, Crook requires highly skilled surgery to stabilize the femoral head and neck using steel screws and pins.

Unfortunately, the cost of Crook's surgery is estimated to be over $3500.00. While Crook's mom, who works as a Special Education Assistant, can cover his day-to-day expenses and routine medical care, she cannot afford this life-changing surgery.

Crook's mom found him outside in the dead of winter last year when he was approximately six months old. He was skinny, covered in fleas, and had not been altered. Since then, Crook has grown into a big, handsome boy who is deeply loved. However, without the surgery, Crook will continue to live in pain and eventually lose his ability to walk.

Can you please help Crook get the surgery he desperately needs to live a good quality of life?
